And my DS Lite goes to...

No, really?
I made it through those two days.
I have blisters on my toes, but I made it. There's like a hundred more bucks.
My monitor and video card arrived. They are both glorious.

I can barely wait for the rest of the parts.
Also, another fun perk at that job? I can raid the cafeteria kitchen when I'm hungry. It's great.
Aaaanyway, this was going to be a short entry - I can barely focus on this blog, as I'm too busy squee-ing over the computer parts.
Also? I found the scalpel last night.

EDIT: My dad went through his camera's SD card, and found a picture I took while my friend was here. Nun told me to put it here, so:

"Working For the Weekend"?

More likely "Working Until I Can Kill Myself on the Weekend". But more on that later.

Yesterday was Fun: Got a shitton of everything at the hardware store downtown, but some of the things I actually care for include the seeds. Among assorted vegetables and other standard garden fare, Hats are going to try and grow Sunflowers somewhere in the yard. Yes. Youkai Moe~.
(Some of the fun stuff was 1,260 pounds of stone blocks in lieu of a sidewalk and a shitton of lattice board. Moving all that's going to work wonderfully with my schedule.)

Getting to that emplyoment-angst:

I woke up at 6 AM to get ready to go into work with my father, as the school is a short walk away. I had to be there at 9. This is bearable, but I recieved no other information other than "Be at the school at 9 on the 13th", and thus have no idea how long I'm supposed to stay there. They were equally instructive with the date of my orientation. "HERE. 9."
Man, HR really earns those paychecks.
Anyway, I get there and am subjected to a brief tour of the place. I'm fine with this. Plus, the school is tiny - It's about the size of my old elementary school. Did I mention that it's K-12, all at once? Yeah. It is.
I miss civilization.

I don't really get the fun news until they let us take off around quarter after ten - I'm to come back in at 2 and work until 11. Meaning I'm going to be up for 17 hours today. I can barely do twelve. Even better, after I get home at 11:30, I am to repeat the process of waking up at six AM tomorrow, come dick around in dad's office until two, where I will then kill my entire afternoon and evening sweeping.
The only bright side is that this is at least a hundred bucks right here. If I don't, you know, die.
I guess a couple other perks are an hour total of break time, being able to wear whatever the hell I want to work, the "clean" standards are actually lower than those at the arcade, I'll not have to actually work with the kids, and I'm allowed to use my MP3 player.
I also need to check the PO box today and see if my other goodies have arrived.
EDIT: They haven't.
Lastly, I'm finally trying to get an appointment scheduled for my eyes, which have been giving me hell reading things at distances lately. I can't see myself doing fine on the eye exam, so everyone's favorite hat is basically confirmed for Meganekko.

Probably as optimistic as this blog will get.

Holy hell, today has been a good day. As of the time of this entry, I've been up twelve hours - I should already be tired. Today, however, has done quite a job keeping me up and presumably loaded with dopamine.

I'd gone into work with my dad this morning awaiting my pre-employment background check. It was scheduled at 1, but HR said they were open all day when they called yesterday around closing time, so I just said what the hell and went to see if I could just get it over with. I could. Long story short, filled out all the fun paperwork (I haven't signed my name in so long), and passed the drug test, with the help of a doctor's note or eighty.
I start on the 13th.
I'm already giddy about that, then I pay a visit to the post office, to find I've received the second of Nun's postcards, as well as my check from the Treasury for $358, which is a niiice big chunk of the computer I'm wanting to buy. I'm daydreaming Crysis already.
(Incidentally, tell me Nomad doesn't look like a more badass Charlie Sheen. He does, doesn't he?)
I topped off the fantastic outing with delicious Subway and a Reese's Blizzard from the DQ next door. And now, it's time to order some computer parts!
OH, and I forgot to mention - The weather yesterday was so nice you could roll the windows down in the car. Oh my god, I've been staring at this fucking snow for six months, and it's finally leaving.

Geez. First blog and this is already horrible.

The Nun convinced me to give this blogging thing a try, despite the fact that my life is far from interesting enough to regularly blog about. That said, future updates will be sporadic.

I've decided that I'm going to use what money I'll have on my tax refund check (which will hopefully be here soon) to buy parts for a desktop computer. This laptop is, to be blunt, awful.
I asked Garr for help, which he gave... then Alice helped, and I more or less have a completely different machine on my Newegg wishlist now. The whole thing will cost about $800, and for that price, it should, and will, I am assured, run just about anything I want it to. I'd be content to even be able to play that copy of Left 4 Dead 2 I've got, but hey, max settings are nice too.
(Good thing an OS is basically free.)
Hopefully I'll get that job I interviewed for last Tuesday - Getting the remainder of the parts will be even quicker then. This whole thing, though, means I'll be putting off my plans to buy a Nintendo 3DS, but it's probably a blessing in disguise. I hardly need another Procrastination Enabler in my life.
On that note, I'm probably still going to send my DS Lite to Alice. It's not like I can do anything else in my copy of Platinum.

(Black background? Seriously, Pyonta?)
